kites

Our second morning at the beach was idyllic. The kids immediately (still in pj's) ran outside to our sandbox of a yard to build castles, look for crab holes, and slide down the dunes. Fun Uncles Josh and Stephen soon followed with kites, and I with my camera. And baby.

I put baby in the sand so she could kite watch (ok, so I could take pictures of her kite watching...) and she liked it. For a second.

Until she remembered the sand.

Brother tried to tell her it was fun

but she wasn't buying it. So back in my lap she went.

It was an easy place to slow down, watch, and enjoy the moment we were in, sure. But looking back at the this time captured makes me want to do the same with my everyday mornings. The  messy, loud, not so idyllic ones.
Or are they?

(a huge thanks to uncles who do fun things with our kids so that creatively stagnant mommies can take pictures and tired daddies can sleep in!)
