i've always been a bit shy.

but before started school i was painfully shy.

my mom dreaded my first day

and as she predicted, tears flowed (from both of us).

she promptly changed the name plates of 2 desks so that i would be sitting next to a girl that she thought looked sweet,

and we are still the best of friends today.

she also told me she would have a surprise for me when she picked me up.

i had been wanting a cheer bear.

remember the care bears?

i'm not sure if i was more happy when i saw it that day,

or when i opened it as a gift for lillie.

my mom is great like that.
