behind the lens in 2010

2010 was a really fun year as far as photography was concerned. i had several opportunities to photograph families other than my own, and i loved it. though many sessions were posted, there were a few left behind.

such as this dear family~

i have known bethany ever since her glory days of having the highest boof (bangs) in junior high.
she's still really cool.
and an amazing mom of three boys.
she thought she had stopped there....
but shortly after this shoot she found out number that FOUR was on the way!

i am so happy that we caught this ~ her life just as it is now.
it's always just this smiley and happy isn't it bef? ;)

i later had a brief session with a newer but just as dear friend. sadly, the weather didn't want to cooperate, but we at least caught newly walking sissy with a look that says so much~

if this was a photo of my boys i think it would be on my wall....

or this one, if it was my family. wait, it IS my family....

this baby girl just makes me swoon. can you guess why?
i can't believe i get to hold my very own in less than 3 months!

speaking of babies....
there was a major announcement made in 2010.

baby brother is having a baby! due one day after ours!

and all the way back to summer.....on a very hot and sticky day.....
my bff's babes.
3 giggly girls.
whose hearts are as beautiful as their faces.

and whose personalities are as different as sun and moon.

and finally, a wedding.

of a couple who met right here~

and let me take one of my favorite photos of the year (maybe because i was standing in a shower?) ~

thanks for letting me share.

i sometimes think about what this little 'ole blog is about. and basically, it's simply for me to

remember.

it has felt strange posting photos outside of my own family this year, for i fear being thought of as fishing for praise. in all honesty there is rarely a photo of mine that i think is truly great. but i enjoy looking back and seeing growth. well, sometimes i enjoy looking back. sometimes i cringe.

but i'm learning to let go. let it be. share the love.
even if it's just for me.

When I think about the actual day of our photo shoot, I crack up!! Wasn't it like the hottest day in recorded history :) But when I look at the pictures, my heart melts. You captured my girls and that is the greatest compliment I could give a photographer!! I can't wait for our picture of Charlotte to hang on our wall!!

love you!

so it has been fun catching up on the Davis family tonight. Your pics are great. I love the Brown girlies. Oh and I got a kick out of Bryan's office. John has been home sick the last 3 days and that has been his office too. Hope you are doing well with the pregnancy.
