little big boy

i've been without a card reader for weeks now - making me unable to post about BIG news in our family....

huge. monumental. end of an era news...

we said goodbye to the paci.

it's been hard. there have been many tears. and charlie has been sad too.

i was thrilled, yet cringing as he walked down the sidewalk to put it in the mailbox "so the mailman can take it to another little baby". his cousin had just done the same, so charlie couldn't wait to follow suit. i on the other hand could only wonder what would happen to "my" precious nap time.

but he was in the moment. not thinking at all about nap time ~

we sat on the porch and tried to wait for the mailman

but finally gave up the waiting and celebrated with doughnuts

ok, if truth be told....these were different days. nap time came and he, as expected, wailed. it happened to be a day that i desperately needed him to take a nap (and his brother too...who i was afraid was going to wake up due to said wailing...) so i beat the mailman to the box and told charlie we could have a re-do when he was really ready.

er, when i was really ready.

eventually i was. so back to the celebrating ~

after doughnuts we headed to the park to play (and sweat) them off.
